South Carolina Association of Governmental Organizations (SCAGO) was formed with the primary objective of promoting financing and investment opportunities to benefit South Carolina's Public School Districts.

SCAGO was formed in 2002 by local school and community leaders. SCAGO was originally sponsored by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA) and the South Carolina Association of School Business Officials (SCASBO).

SCAGO is a not-for-profit corporation formed under the laws of the State of South Carolina and is governed by a Board of Directors made up of nine individuals with diverse professional backgrounds, including school business officials, school superintendents and local community leaders.
